How to use the cycling calorie calculator

How cycling calories are calculated — MET method explained
MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) measures exercise intensity relative to sitting still. Moderate cycling at 12–14 mph has a MET of approximately 8.0 — meaning it burns 8 times the calories of sitting still for the same duration. At racing pace (16–19 mph), MET rises to 12.0. The standard calorie formula uses body weight in kilograms and duration in hours.
